Your Questions, Answered

  • Integrative psychiatry combines conventional Western medicine (such as psychotropic medication) with evidence-based complementary therapies. We don’t just look at symptoms; we examine the interplay between your lifestyle, diet, physical health, and environment to treat the root cause of your distress.

  • Absolutely. Many of my patients find me specifically for psychotropic management while continuing deep-work therapy with their existing providers. With your permission, I can collaborate with your therapist to ensure our treatment goals are aligned.

  • While our sessions are virtual, your physical health remains a priority. I may order blood work (to check vitamin levels, thyroid function, or metabolic markers) which you can complete at a local lab. We then review these results together to see how they may be influencing your mental clarity and mood.

  • To get the most out of our time, I recommend:

    • Privacy: A quiet, secure space where you feel comfortable speaking freely.

    • Technology: A reliable internet connection and a device with a working camera and microphone.

    • Vitals: If you have a home blood pressure cuff or a way to track your heart rate (like a smartwatch), having those numbers handy can be helpful for medication management.

  • Research consistently shows that for most psychiatric conditions, telehealth is just as effective as in-person care. It offers the added benefits of reduced commute stress, increased scheduling flexibility, and the comfort of being in your own environment.

  • -I currently take the following insurance, but this is not exhaustive and there are instances that I can still obtain coverage:

Florida Blue, Aetna, Carelon Behavioral Health, Oscar Optum, Ascension Smarthealth, Quest Behavioral Health, Independence Blue Cross, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare Optum, Oxford Optum, Cigna.

-For those using out-of-network benefits, I can provide a "superbill" (a detailed receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
